TIP: Persimmon season is a short one October- early December so take advantage of it. There are different type of persimmon varieties you can read about here. My favorite is the hachiya variety. Make sure you wait to eat the hachiya until it is very, very soft, otherwise the astringent nature of the fruit will leave a weird fur sensation in your mouth if even slightly unripe. This fruit is very heating and sweet, so enjoy in moderation.
